The Alcazaba in Antequera was built in the 14th century by the Moors to defend against the Christian army. The fortress was built on top of a Roman garrison due to its strategic position. It is situated south of the city but easily within walking distance from the city centre. There is a small charge to enter the complex but it is worth it. The price includes an audio tour device. For more information and interactive map for directions to the Alcazaba see below.
