Virgin de la Pena shrine

The chapel was carved in the rock around 1548 by frier's. Tradition say's that in 1586 the virgin de la Pena appeared in the form of an apparition there and the lost shine that had been hidden for the eight centuries during Muslim rule was found. Today the shine is set in beautiful gardens with traces of the old fortress wall all around. Its a tranquill place with some of the best view's of the Costa del Sol.
