It is the largest and most impressive of the bridges that span El Tajo gorge with a height of 98 mtrs. Work started on the bridge in 1751 but was not completed until 1793. The Puente Nuevo bridge stands as a centrepiece of the town. The bridge took 34 years to build, You can access the gorge for photographs by taking the first turning on your right after the bridge walking away from Plaza Espana which is Calle Tenorio. Walk to the end of the road to Plaza de Maria Auxiliadore. There is a walk way there into the Gorge. This is an ideal spot to photograph the bridge. By Car Join the A7 towards Marbella exit junction 172 onto the A397 and that road goes to Ronda. Use the guide below for parking in Ronda.

By Train To get to Ronda by train first get to Maria Zambrano Malaga station and change there for Ronda.
