With the Spanish Goverment relaxing the quarantine rules on tourists entering the country searches for flights to Spain have increased by 70% in one day. Tui have announced that they are confident the goverment will soon either cancel the UK quarantine rules or open air corridors to Spain. It's another step in the right direction to having a summer holiday.

Fuengirola's Bio Parc is the next attraction to open it's door to the public for the first time since Spain ended it's lockdown. The park will open without one of the star attractions, Asmara the Sumatran tigress. Asmara died during the lockdown from chronic  kidney failure which was first discovered in 2014. She died at the age of 19.The Biopark is one of the major attractions in Fuengirola and is a great place to visit. The town is now coming back to life with the bars & restaurants already open for business. Hotels are still scheduled to open on the first of July.

The prestigious blue flag award has been awarded to six beaches on the Costa del sol. The six new beach additions are: Los Boliches - Gaviotas, Castillo and Fuengirola beaches in Fuengirola; El Cable and Puerto Banús Levante in Marbella; and Los Álamos in Torremolinos. The award is recognised as a sign of excellence for beaches around the world.

Outdoor markets on the Costa del Sol are taking the tentative steps of re-opening This week. The markets will open at 50% capacity so the stall holders will alternate each week to comply with the new social distancing rules. Malaga cancels all fairs & festivals for June,July and August.  Malaga has joined Seville and Marbella cancelling fairs and festival to comply with covid 19 safety rules. It is expected that all the resorts on the Costa del Sol will now follow suit. Spain has now reported two days without a death to covid 19 so their guidance is moving in the right direction. Meanwhile in the UK the fourteen day quarantine will come into play on Monday the 8th of June.

Torremolinos and Benalmadena have both made the top 10 holiday searches in Spain Reports Destinia. As soon as the Spanish Goverment announced the country was open to tourists there was an  upward surge in searches for Spanish holidays.  Hopes of that Spanish 2020 holiday are on the rise. But the UK Goverment is still due to start the 14 day quarantine for all on incoming flights to the UK. Caminito del Rey One of the Costa del Sol's largest tourist attractions will reopen on the 16-06-2020 after closing due to coronavirus. Tickets are on sale now and guided tours can be purchased through our website, but limitations have been put on the amount of tickets sold. The president of the Malaga Provincial Council has said that the reopening will be in full compliance with all of the health guidelines and will be opened in stages. Social distancing posters, hand sanitiser and systematic disinfecting of the route are a few of the measures to be put in place.

The president of Spain has confirmed that tourism in the country will resume in July for all. Spanish and tourists coming from other countries. Teresa Ribera (Goverment minister) has said this will happen "in conditions of safety" and tourists could "start planning their holidays in Spain now". Sánchez sent out the following message to foreign tourists: "Spain will be waiting for you from the month of July, and whoever comes to Spain, can be sure that they are coming to a land that has health guarantees. Spain to stop quarantining arrivals from July 01st the Spanish Goverment has announced today. Spain is opening up the holiday market again before the summer season is over is seen as crucial to the Spanish economy. Bars and restaurants have already started opening up with social distancing playing a large part. Ryanair and Easyjet are both resuming their flights from mid June. Jet2 will resume flights and holidays from July 01st. There is always a snag and that's the UK's 14 day quarantine law due to start in June. It is believed pressure will be put on the British Goverment to relax these laws when returning from the EU. It might be a bit early to book your summer break but there is no harm in looking at what's on offer on the left hand tool bar.

After 50 days of lockdown Spain starts to relax it's restrictions in this next step to resume a normal life again. Spain is now focusing on retrieving its battered economy of which Tourism makes up a large proportion. From today exercise outdoors is permitted and from Monday 4th May 2020 some non essential shops will be allowed to open. The beaches are open in most resorts but bars,restaurants and hotels have no start back dates.

Ryanair plans to reopen mid June

Ryanair and other budget airlines are hoping to restart flights to Spain as early as mid June 2020. CEO Micheal O Leary of Ryanair has predicted even cheaper flights when the air routes open up. But is it a good time to travel? The European Commission Has clearly stated To wait before making any holiday plans and it is to early to make reliable forecasts for July & August. But it's a step in the right direction for normality returning.

Tourism will not return to normal in 2020 says minister

A Spanish minister has announced that the Costa del Sol will not be ready and tourism will not return to normal in 2020 due to the Coronavirus (Corvid 19). When the bars and restaurants do finally open they will face tough regulations on social distancing. This is not good news for the tourism trade on the Costa del Sol but safety has to come first.

Grant Shapps told Radio 4 listeners "i wont be booking a summer holiday at this point but what if you have booked?. 

The UK transport secretary has said he will not be booking a summer holiday at this point. Not the best news for the tourist industry but what if you have already booked?.
