 Sardines day la cala: May's festival's get started in La Cala de Mijas. Sardine day is getting more and more popular. Thousands of sardines are grilled on the beach in long lines. So line up and get your free sardines. There is a party atmosphere along the whole beach front with Flamenco dancing competitions and music. This is a great event and is growing each year. Date for 2019 01-05-19 and it's an all day event.

Yoga en el Castillo festival: Started in 2017. It's a yoga festival at Sohail castle in Fuengirola.So if you into yoga or want to have a go and learn about this Hindu discipline then come along. There is also a vegan cooking and meditation section. The fun starts at 10:30 and finishes at 22:00 each day. Click here for the Facebook page Dates for 2019 11-05-2019 to 12-05-2019 and it's an all day event.

Pilgrimage of the Patron Saint: This festival is a celebration of Casares patron saint Our Lady of Rosario del Campo. A pasos (large float) is paraded through the village starting at the chapel in Plaza de Espana with fireworks and bell ringing. The Pasos is taken down to a Hermatiage near the Guadiaro river. The pilgrims travel 14 kms to the river.The festival then turns into an open air party in the town and by the river  attracting locals from miles around. On the Sunday the festival draws to a close with Mass in the town and by the river. Dates for 2018 11-05-18 to 13-05-18 and is a weekend event. 2019 dates to be announced 

La Noche en Blanco in Malaga: is a nocturnal experience where you can enjoy a cultural program for everyone. It starts at 20:00 hrs and finishes around 02:00am. Many of Malaga's museums and art galleries open up from 20:00until 02:00am including the Picasso museum and the Pompidou centre in Muelle uno. They are free to enter on this night. Most of the Plaza's have music, dancing and performing arts during the evening. In 2017 this event attracted 230,000 people and is a growing event. Date for 2019 18-05-2019 and is all over the town of Malaga.


Feria del Marisco Benalmadena. This is a must for seafood lovers or if you want to give seafood a go. The event takes place at the port at 12:00 noon and offers a wide range of seafood over the five day event.
