Car hire

Car Hire on the Costa Del Sol is straight forward. Its best to book in advance and shop around but read the terms & conditions carefully. Most car hire companies hit you with a collision weaver insurance charge and this can be around 25 euro’s per day with a minimum of around 60 euro’s and a max of around 200 euro’s. If you are not prepared for this it can leave you feeling ripped off and your only other option is to give the hire company a 1000 euro’s which is returned when you return the car. The down side to this is that if you damage the car you pay and if the car has damage from the previous user that has not been logged when you collect the car you are liable. The best advise is to be aware of this charge and pay it. When you return the car damaged or not you are covered.

Driving in Spain is not to different to driving anywhere else, if you are use to driving in England yes the rest of the world drive's on the other side of the road but you and the car position stay the same. The driver seat is still positioned on the far side toward's the middle of the road so adjusting takes minute's. speed sign's are no problem stop sign is marked as stop. Biggest problem is parking. Read general rule's to street parking and use the car park information. If you park illigally you will be fined and you vehicle may be towed away.
