Welcome to What the Locals Know, our guide to some of the best places to eat in Fuengirola, based on a combination of local recommendations and our own experience. For our Top 5 videos, we look at what local residents are recommending when they are asked questions such as where to find the best Indian, Chinese, Italian or Spanish restaurant, before visiting and filming the restaurants ourselves. We then give you our own honest opinion, so you can see not only what the locals recommend, but also what we thought of the food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. From beachfront chiringuitos to restaurants serving cuisines from around the world, this is our personal guide to where to eat in Fuengirola.
How we choose our Top 5
We don't simply take the restaurants with the highest Google ratings. Instead, we look at the questions people are actually asking in local forums, such as “Where's the best Indian restaurant in Fuengirola?”, and look at which restaurants are repeatedly recommended by people who live in or know the area.
We then research the recommendations, visit and film the restaurants where possible, and add our own comments and personal experience. This means our Top 5 isn't simply a list based on online ratings or someone else's opinion. It combines what local people are recommending with what we have seen, eaten and experienced ourselves.
Our aim is to give you a genuine local perspective, while also recognising that everyone's taste is different. A restaurant that we particularly enjoy may not be your favourite, but we want to give you enough information to make your own choice.
Explore the chiringuitos of Fuengirola with this full video series, covering the beachfront from one end of the promenade to the other. These videos show the atmosphere, locations, and seafront views of some of the most popular beach restaurants, helping you decide where to stop for food, drinks, or a relaxed day by the sea. Based on local recommendations and updated regularly, this is your guide to what the locals know along the Fuengirola coast.
We're just getting started with our local food guide to Fuengirola. New videos are added regularly, covering everything from tapas to international favourites. Over time, we aim to create the most up-to-date and trusted local food resource for Fuengirola — built on honest recommendations from those who actually eat here.

It has a good reputation for its food, service and generous portions. Personally, though, it isn't one of my favourites. I've found the food perfectly acceptable, but there are other Indian restaurants in Fuengirola that I would choose before it.

If I'm eating here during the day, I particularly like one of their Indian salads, which makes a lighter alternative to a traditional curry. Namaste was also one of the restaurants selected for our Best Indian Restaurants in Fuengirola video, reflecting the strong recommendations it receives from local people.
