The current building dates from the 19th century and is known for its impressive entrance arch, historic design, and colourful stained-glass window depicting Málaga landmarks. 

The market is popular with both locals and visitors, offering a chance to see traditional Spanish shopping alongside opportunities to stop for tapas, drinks, and fresh local produce.

The Mercado Central de Atarazanas is open:

Monday to Saturday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Sunday: Closed

Individual stalls may close earlier once products have sold, and some sections can have different opening patterns.
