Information on Benalmadena Market
1. Overview
The Wednesday and Friday markets are two of the main weekly markets in Benalmádena and are both located in Arroyo de la Miel, although at different locations.
The Wednesday market is held at the Recinto Ferial La Paloma, close to Parque de la Paloma and Selwo Marina. It is a rastro or flea market, with an emphasis on second-hand goods, vintage items, antiques, collectables and unusual finds.
The Friday market is held at Avenida del Manantial, on the site of the former Tivoli World car park. It is the larger of the two and is a traditional Costa del Sol mercadillo, with more than 200 stalls offering a wide range of new goods and produce.
If you're looking for bargains and second-hand items, Wednesday is the day to choose. For clothing, food, household goods and a much wider selection of general market goods, Friday is the better option.

The Friday market is held on the large area around the former Tivoli World site and is close to Benalmádena-Arroyo de la Miel railway station.

The markets are morning markets, so it is best to arrive early, particularly during the summer when temperatures can rise quickly.
The Friday market can be particularly busy, and many traders begin packing away towards the end of the trading period.

The Friday market has considerably more stalls and is the better choice if you want a traditional Spanish mercadillowith a large variety of goods.
5. How to Get There
By train:
The Friday market is particularly easy to reach by train, with Benalmádena-Arroyo de la Miel station only a short walk away.
The station is on the Málaga–Fuengirola Cercanías C1 line, making it convenient for visitors travelling from Málaga, the airport, Torremolinos and Fuengirola.
The Wednesday market is further from the railway station and involves a longer walk, so a local bus or taxi can be more convenient.
By bus:
Local bus services connect Arroyo de la Miel with Benalmádena Costa, Benalmádena Pueblo and surrounding areas.
By car:
Both markets can be reached easily by car, with parking available around the respective locations.
6. Parking
There are parking options close to both markets, although finding a space becomes more difficult during busy market mornings.
The Friday market has parking around the former Tivoli site, while the Wednesday market has parking around the Recinto Ferial La Paloma and Parque de la Paloma.
Arriving early is recommended if you want to park close to the market, particularly during the summer.

9. Overall Experience
The two markets give you quite different reasons to visit. The Wednesday rastro is more about searching through second-hand goods and finding something unexpected, while Friday is the classic large Costa del Sol mercadillo, with a much wider selection of everyday goods, clothing, food and souvenirs.
Both offer a chance to experience a more local side of Benalmádena away from the beaches and marina, and they are popular with residents as well as visitors.
Our tip: If you have time, visit both markets because they are different enough to make each visit worthwhile. Go on Wednesday if you enjoy rummaging for unusual bargains, antiques and second-hand items. Then try the Friday market for the much larger selection of new goods and fresh produce. The Friday market is also particularly easy to reach by train, making it a good option if you don't have a car.
