The picturesque boardwalk in La Cala de Mijas stretches a generous 6 kilometers along the stunning coastline, providing an idyllic path for walkers and a connection to the wider Senda Litoral De Malaga, also known as the Malaga Coastal Path. The ambitious vision for the Senda Litoral De Malaga aims to span a remarkable 163 kilometers from Nerja to Manilva, with the La Cala de Mijas boardwalk forming a captivating segment of this extensive coastal trail.
As you meander along the boardwalk, you'll be greeted by a string of charming bars and restaurants that offer the perfect opportunity to savor local cuisine while taking in the breathtaking coastal views. The path winds its way through Calahonda, and it concludes just 500 meters shy of Cabopino, where you can further explore the captivating Cabopino sand dune nature reserve.
The La Cala de Mijas boardwalk is a prominent attraction in the village, offering not only a leisurely walk but also a window to the natural beauty and coastal splendor that define the Costa del Sol. Whether you're seeking a tranquil stroll or a culinary adventure with an ocean backdrop, this boardwalk is a must-visit destination that embodies the essence of the region's allure.

The Village
La Cala has a modern village centre with ample parking, a supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants all around away from the beach. During the summer months the population swells but the village seems to deal with the increase ok. The Boardwalk
The boardwalk opened in 2016 and runs from La Cala to Calahonda. The start is on the beach next to the watch tower. There are plans to connect the boardwalk to Cabopina from Calahonda and from Cabopino to Marbella. Well worth a walk and there are bar's and restaurants along the way. Torre Vigia de Cala de Mijas

Beach & Promenade
The beach at La Cala de Mijas is over 2 kms long and its a good quality beach. The promenade next to the beach is very well maintained and has a pirate ship climbing frame for the kids. Getting around the Costa del Sol
Malaga Fuengirola trainline
The trainline does not extend to La Cala de Mijas and ends at Fuengirola.
