Calle Marqués de Larios is Málaga's principal shopping street and one of the most important landmarks in the historic centre. Opened in 1891, the wide pedestrian street is named after Manuel Domingo Larios y Larios, the Marquess of Larios, whose family played an important role in the development of Málaga.

The street is famous for its elegant buildings, distinctive curved corners and impressive width, creating a grand entrance into Málaga's historic centre from Plaza de la Marina.

Today, Calle Larios is filled with shops, cafés, restaurants and visitors throughout the year. It is also one of the main locations for Málaga's biggest celebrations, with the street transformed by elaborate decorations and installations during Christmas, Carnival, Feria and other major events.

Calle Marqués de Larios runs through the centre of Málaga between Plaza de la Constitución and Plaza de la Marina.

Calle Larios is a public pedestrian street and can be visited 24 hours a day.

By train:
Take the Cercanías Málaga C1 line to Málaga Centro–Alameda station. From the station, Calle Larios is around a 15-minute walk.

By bus:
Several Málaga city bus routes stop around Alameda Principal and Plaza de la Marina. From either area, Calle Larios is within easy walking distance.

On foot:
Calle Larios is one of the easiest attractions to reach when exploring central Málaga. From Plaza de la Marina, simply walk towards Plaza de la Constitución.

The street provides a natural route towards Málaga Cathedral, Mercado Central de Atarazanas, Roman Theatre and Alcazaba.

6. Parking

Calle Larios is pedestrianised, so vehicles cannot drive directly along the main section of the street.

The easiest option is to use one of the central underground car parks and walk into the historic centre.

There are parking options around Muelle Uno, Málaga Port, Plaza de la Marina and other parts of the city centre.

During Christmas, Carnival and other major events, central Málaga becomes particularly busy and parking can be more difficult than usual.

• Walk the entire length of Calle Larios from Plaza de la Marina to Plaza de la Constitución.
