 Information on the Dunas de Artola

1. Overview

The Artola Dunes (Dunas de Artola) are a protected natural monument covering a large stretch of coastline around Cabopino. The area preserves one of the last remaining dune systems on the Costa del Sol and is home to native plants, wildlife, and scenic walking routes.

2. Location & Access

The dunes are located between Cabopino Marina and Elviria, directly behind Cabopino Beach.

3. Walking Routes & Boardwalk

A wooden boardwalk runs through part of the dunes, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings while helping protect the fragile ecosystem. The route offers excellent views of the coastline and is suitable for most visitors.

The dunes border some of the most attractive beaches in the Marbella area. The wide sandy beach provides plenty of space even during the summer months and is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and coastal walks.

5. Nature & Wildlife

The protected area supports a variety of native plants, pine trees, and birdlife. The combination of dunes, woodland, and coastline creates an important habitat that is now increasingly rare along the developed Costa del Sol coastline.

Several parking areas are available close to Cabopino Beach and the marina. Spaces can fill quickly during summer, particularly at weekends, so arriving earlier in the day is recommended.
