Virgen del Carmen Procession – Los Boliches
The Virgen del Carmen Procession is one of the most important annual events in Los Boliches and takes place every year on 16th July. The celebration honours the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors, and attracts thousands of visitors and locals who come together to witness this unique Costa del Sol tradition.
The evening begins at Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen, where the statue of the Virgen del Carmen leaves the church at approximately 8:45 pm. Accompanied by bands, local residents and religious brotherhoods, the procession makes its way through the streets of Los Boliches before continuing along the Paseo Marítimo towards the beach.
The highlight of the evening comes when the statue is carried into the Mediterranean Sea. Fishing boats and pleasure boats gather in the bay to accompany the Virgen, sounding their horns as the maritime procession takes place. Thousands of people line the beach, and many even wade into the sea to experience this special moment.
At around 11:30 pm, a spectacular fireworks display lights up the bay, bringing the celebrations to a memorable close.

- Paseo Marítimo, Los Boliches – A great place to see the procession as it heads towards the beach.

Visitor Tips
- Arrive early, as the streets and beach become extremely busy.
- The promenade and beach can be crowded, so wear comfortable footwear and take plenty of water during the warmer evenings.
- Many local restaurants and beach bars are open throughout the evening, but booking ahead is recommended.
- If driving, expect road closures and limited parking close to the seafront.

Estepona fair is a 5 day event that traditionally starts in the first week of July and lasts for five days. The fair has processions and live music. In the evening temporary stands are set up for music concerts. The streets of Estepona buzz when the fair is in town and most of the town comes to a halt. The fair is geared up for all age groups and is situated at the fair ground on av. Juan Carlos 1 Estepona. Dates for 2025 01st - 7th July 2025
Feria La Cala de Mijas: Held every year in june / July on the fairground and on the promenade at La Cala de Mijas. This is a great fair and a great time to be in La Cala de Mijas with drinks, music and dancing. 2025 dates 23-07-2025 to 27-07-2025.
The Fiestas Marineras: This is a great little festival held at the Parque Huelin in Malaga. it's not a large event but still worth a visit if you are in the area. There is a stage with live music loads of food, alcohol and a great atmosphere. The food is usually supplied by the famous Foodtrucks. These are not to be missed. The party starts at 7.00pm and goes on well into the night
