Plaza Costa del Sol is the central meeting point of Torremolinos and one of the liveliest pedestrian areas in the town. Located alongside Calle San Miguel, the plaza has been transformed into a spacious, modern public area with shops, cafés, restaurants and plenty of space to sit and watch the world go by. Its large sculptural canopy, installed as part of the major redevelopment completed in 2019, has become one of the most recognisable features of the town centre. The plaza is also used for events throughout the year and becomes particularly attractive during the Christmas period when the square is decorated with lights and a festive market. While exploring the area, keep an eye out for the Brigitte Bardot mural, a colourful piece of street art that provides an unusual little photo opportunity.

Plaza Costa del Sol is much more than simply a square in the centre of Torremolinos. It is the social heart of the town, connecting Calle San Miguel with the surrounding shopping streets and providing a large pedestrian space where people come to shop, eat, meet friends and enjoy the atmosphere.
The modern redevelopment has given the area a completely different appearance, while the events held throughout the year mean there is often something happening here. The Christmas decorations are particularly impressive and transform the plaza during December.
Our tip: Don't simply walk through Plaza Costa del Sol on your way to Calle San Miguel. Take a few minutes to look around, especially at the central canopy and the surrounding artwork. If you're visiting during one of Torremolinos' festivals or at Christmas, make a point of coming back to the plaza — that's when you really see it come alive.
