The Old Town of San Pedro de Alcántara is centred around Plaza de la Iglesia and the surrounding network of pedestrian streets. Filled with traditional cafés, tapas bars, boutiques, and local businesses, it offers a pleasant alternative to the larger tourist resorts nearby. The area is known for its well-maintained streets, colourful flower displays, and welcoming atmosphere throughout the year.
The Old Town is located in the heart of San Pedro de Alcántara, a short distance inland from the beach and promenade.

Most of the historic centre is pedestrianised, making it ideal for exploring on foot.
The Old Town itself is accessible 24 hours a day.
Shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants generally operate normal business hours, with many restaurants reopening in the evening after the traditional afternoon break.
The largely flat streets make the area suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and pushchairs, although some older streets have traditional paving surfaces.
One of the easiest places to park when visiting the Old Town is around the nearby Boulevard of San Pedro.
There are numerous free parking spaces surrounding the boulevard, making it one of the best parking areas in San Pedro. From there, the Old Town is only a short walk away. Additional parking can also be found in various streets surrounding the town centre.
By Car:
Easy access from the A-7 and AP-7 motorways, with parking available around the boulevard and town centre.
By Bus:
Regular services connect San Pedro with Marbella, Puerto Banús, Estepona, Fuengirola, and Málaga.
On Foot:
The Old Town is easily reached from the boulevard, beach area, and many local hotels.

Unlike some of the purpose-built resorts along the coast, San Pedro's Old Town remains a functioning Spanish town where locals still make up much of the daily activity.
San Pedro de Alcántara Old Town offers a charming and authentic Costa del Sol experience. Combining traditional Spanish character, attractive squares, local restaurants, and easy access from the boulevard, it provides a welcome contrast to the larger tourist resorts nearby. For visitors looking to experience a more genuine side of Andalusia, it is one of the most enjoyable town centres on the western Costa del Sol.
